Copperfield, TX 05-03-2008 - Pennison's Sports Pubs Too - was the "battleground" again this month. Folks from all our venues came to play for the $500 purse and had a great time! With great drink prices and a friendly staff, it is always a pleasure to play at Penn's Too.

JUST a FREERoll |

This month, Big Slick Entertainment's Monthly Invitational Freeroll was held at our venue: Just A Bar, which plays on Sundays at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., Mondays at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., made for a great venue, with great drink specials.
The $500 Plus in Cash and Prizes attracted more players than some of the previous months. A total of 50 players at 6 tables, including two BSE Tournament Directors (TDs), were present to compete for the Player of the Month bracelet along with cash and prizes.

LEGENDARY FREERoll |

This month, Big Slick Entertainment's Monthly Invitational Freeroll was held at our newest venue: Legends Bar & Grill, which plays during the week on Thursdays at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., made for a great venue, with great drink specials (they ran different shot specials every hour) and delectable food at affordable prizes. Legends Bar and Grill, located on Murphy Rd at Airport Blvd, is a family owned and operated venue. Next time you are in there, say hello to the Husband and Wife team of Xavier and Anna. They would love to hear from ya!

After several hours of intense and tight card play, nine players were left to form a tough final table. Among them were top point earners (Isais Rios is consistently in the top 5 regional point earners) and regional champs (Patty Bundrant is one of the WPTAPL's National Championship Invitees from the first half of 2007). BIGGEST TURNOUT, |

In addition to the regular players at Big Slick Entertainment's Monthly Invitational FREEROLL, two BSE Tournament Directors (TDs) were present to compete for the Player of the Month bracelet and over $500 in cash and prizes.
 Due to the large field of players and tight play, the competition was tough. As the dust began to settle however, 8 players 
emerged to form the coveted final table. Coincidently, four were from the north venues, and four were from the south venues, making this a true inter-venue competition.
February's Invitational will be held on Saturday the 16th at Legends Bar & Grill in Stafford. Thanks to all of you, the invitational is becoming a great event where there are

POKER PLAYERS LINE UP FOR BSE's December FREEROLL Event |

Held again at DJ's Sports Bar, Big Slick Entertainment's Monthly Invitational FREEROLL seems to be gaining a following. Enthusiastic players came to play for over $500 in cash and prizes. Unlike smaller pursed nightly tournaments, the sizable prizes in the Invitational made for more interesting, and definitely tighter play. This month's Invitational saw a sizable field of players that played well and stayed unyielding as the blinds climbed steadily. Along with invitees, four BSE Tournament Directors (TDs) were present to compete for the Player of the Month bracelet and top cash prizes.  from Pennison's Sugarland.

from the pack to take first place: Edwin Dantas placed first and won $150 cash and the Player of the Month Bracelet! Congrats Edwin on a great win! 
The competition was tough, but Sherrill Miller (Pennison's Invitee) took his large chip stack and just kept making it bigger. In the process, he earned three TD bounties.
Two of the TD's Sherrill cleared in a single hand, destroying both Willie (TD - Pennison's Too) and Aaron (TD - DJ's) with a single blow. One by one the rest fell as well and Sherrill took home the Player of the Month Bracelet along with the $150 First Place cash prize and the TD bounties, for a total value of over $265. That's great earnings for a FREE game!
Fresno, TX 11-17-07 - Ras Dancy (Frank-n-Stein’s Invitee) ended up with all of the chips at Big Slick Entertainment’s first monthly Invitational Free Roll at DJ’s Sports Bar. After over five hours of play, he beat out 2nd place winner, Spencer Stewart, and took home the PLAYER OF THE MONTH bracelet, along with $150 in cash and an APL t-shirt.
Dancy and Stewart, along with 54 other players, came to DJ’s to claim the Invitational championship, making this first of many events a great success. Along with crazy sunglasses as door prizes, the event paid out over $550 in prize value. $415 of that was paid to the top 5 finishers in cash. From the turnout and excitement displayed by the players, this event is going to quickly become a favorite of the Houston region APL / BSE players.
